I Got My First Gun at Age 6 While in Kindergarten, Brad Pitt says [pics]

Brad Pitt wasn't your average kid. The Fury actor admitted during an interview with Radio Times while promoting the upcoming flick that he got his first gun when he was just 6 years old.

"There's a rite of passage where I grew up of inheriting your ancestors' weapons," Angelia Jolie's husband said
"My brother got my dad's [and] I got my grandfather's shotgun when I was in kindergarten." Pitt explained he was first given an air gun and then inherited the shotgun when he was 6. By 8, Pitt said he had fired his first gun.

"The positive is that my father instilled in me a
profound and deep respect for the weapon," Pitt went on to say, adding that, to this day, he doesn't feel safe at home with Jolie and their six kids unless he has a gun in the house.

This isn't the first time the actor's been vocal about owning a weapon, either. In 2012, Pitt told the Daily Mail: "It's very strange, but I feel better having a gun. I don't feel the house is completely safe if I don't have one hidden somewhere. That's my thinking, right or wrong."

No word yet on what he's passed down to his own children, but Pitt did mention son Maddox is well-versed when it comes to war machinery. "Maddox knows so much about tanks that when we first started on [ Fury], I was asking him for information."
