Kidnapping: Police Rescue 55-Year Old Oil Mogul

Alhaji Hammed Fashola, a 55-year old oil mogul who was kidnapped penultimate Thursday by a gang of kidnappers at the entrance of his house around 7pm at Unity Estate in Egbada, Lagos has been rescued by the Police.

He was rescued at the kidnappers den at No 18, Odeniyi Ishola Street, Off Bola Road, Isheri-Oshun, Lagos where he was chained down in a toilet. Three members of the gang were also arrested while efforts are on-going to track down the remaining members of the gang.

The kidnappers had earlier contacted his family and demanded for N50m ransom.

Ex NBA President Okey Wali released after 13 days in captivity

Former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Mr Okey Wali, who was kidnapped on Oct 11th in Port Harcourt by unknown gunmen, (read here) has been released. According to a statement released today and signed by the current President of the NBA, Mr Augustine Aleghe, Mr Wali was released around11pm last night after spending 13 days in captivity.

The statement did not state where Mr Wali was released and if any ransom was paid for his release.
