Riot In Lekki, Lagos as Thugs, Okada Riders & Police Clash! [Photos]
A riot broke out this morning in Lekki Phase 1 following thugs/Commercial motorcycle riders clash.
According to some residents, the chairman of the Eti-Osa local government area allegedly engaged the services of touts to confiscate any motorcycle seen within the area.
The touts allegedly beat up one of the Okada men after he refused to let them seize his motorcycle and this led to a serious fight between some of the Okada men, bus drivers and the thugs. The police was immediately called in to stop the riot from escalating.

The gate leading to the estate was shut immediately.
"It all started yesterday when the Okada riders attacked the bus drivers, they shattered the windows of their buses and injured a few bus drivers. This morning, the drivers with the help of some men caught some of these okada riders and beat them to a pulp". an eye witness Revealed
The reprisal attack was said to have led to the burning of several motorbikes.
Early this Month, the Lekki residents association placed a ban on commercial motorcyclists, making public announcements in the estate, explaining that both okada riders and passengers will be arrested if caught.

‘Take am easy Alfred. Na the same wahala all of us wey marry celeb dey face. I even dey with Femi and Gbenga for here. If you hear their complaints, you sef go taya. Wait for us for “The Palms.” We go reach there in 30 minutes time.’

‘Femi how far? Hey Gbenga, where you buy this nice shirt?’
‘O’boy na my wife buy am for me oo. How your beautiful wife naa Alfred? Frank yarn us as we dey come say una wahala don start again.’
‘Gbenga I swear, I don taya for that girl.’ ‘Mehn, this sun na die. Abeg make we find somewhere to chill and take some bottles.’
‘Oya Alfred, gist us wetin happen between you and your wife this time around? But wait first Alfred, before you talk about you and your wife mata, are you not supposed to be at work at this time of the day?’
‘Why are you sounding like this Frank? Haven’t I told you that I don’t go to work whenever my wife is having menstrual pains?’
‘So wetin you come dey do for “The Palms”?’
‘Bros, she sent me to buy her sanitary pads and some chocolate.’
‘Shuoo your wife don turn you to houseboy finish ooo. So you no go work today because your wife wan eat chocolate and wear pad? Wonders shall never end. Na so she send you the other day go collect her purse wey she forget for another man house for Ikoyi.’
‘Gbenga abeg leave Alfred alone make him gist us wetin really happen between him and his wife this morning. That is why we stopped over.’
‘Ok, guys I was enjoying my sleep jeje this early morning, wey my wife come back from God knows where and woke me up to go and bathe her daughter. Before I say make I open my eyes, she don sprinkle water for my face.’
‘WHAT!!! So wetin you come do am?’ ‘Nothing na! Abi una want make I beat her? The water wey she pour for my face no even vex me like that. Na the insult wey follow the water make me vex. Na small thing remain I for slap her I swear.’
‘Mehn Alfred you messed up big time. If na my wife, I for use slap shave her eyebrows.’
‘Frank abeg make I hear word. Ok, make I slap her so that she go use me do publicity abi? Make she tell the world say I be wife beater abi? You know that our yeye press men won’t even bother asking my side of the story before writing their usual nonsense.’
‘Alfred, you and your wife mata na comedy I swear.’
‘Femi, wetin make you dey laugh? Shebi you sef dey plan to marry celeb? No worry, we dey wait. Don’t forget you already told me the reason you want to marry your celebrity girlfriend is because you loved the way she acted in the movie called “Jennifa.” You told Frank just two days ago that you are not very sure if her divorce went through the legal process of annulment or if it was just a case of her ex husband telling her to get out of the house and never come back again. Better find out the true reason for her divorce and if it was legally done so you don’t go to jail for bigamy.’
‘It’s ok Alfred.’
‘No Frank, let me finish what I am saying. After all we are all going through the same mess married to female celebs who have several divorces under their belt.’ ‘From what we all have seen of our celebrity wives and colleagues, none of us can vouch for our wives. Most female celebs are serial-cheaters and polyandrous. Some of them have married so many times that if they had a certificate for each divorce, the walls of their living rooms would be covered with frames like the office of the vice chancellor of UNILAG. Gbenga, why are you so quiet? How’s your wife?’

‘Is she back from Enugu? I taya oo. I wonder how long they will take to shoot a movie. Hope she calls sha?’
‘She called yesterday asking me to help her wash the pants she soaked in the laundry room two weeks ago before she travelled?’
‘My God, Gbenga please tell us you didn’t wash them. Did you?’

‘Frank don’t tell us you are jealous. What makes you so sure that she can’t afford it? Didn’t you see my wife’s friend who just got divorced the other day in her brand new G-wagon and they say she has also bought a house for herself here in lekki?’
‘Gbenga you be mumu if you believe say na her money she take buy house and G-wagon. How much she dey collect per movie and how many movies she dey act?’

Why We Invaded APC Data Centre In Lagos- SSS
“The petition alleged that those behind the activities were
cloning INEC Permanent Voters Card with the intention of hacking into INEC data
base, corrupting it and replacing them with their own data.
“Based on this information, the service placed the building
under surveillance and having been convinced that some unwholesome activities
were going on in the building, it undertook a raid of the premises.

Operatives of the Department of State Service and soldiers yesterday
stormed the All Progressives Congress data centre in Lagos located on Ajibola Street, off Allen Avenue, Ikeja, were they ransacked the duplex and confiscated
computer hardware which contained essential documents of the party. They also
arrested about 25 data agents and three security guards.
APC has however condemned the invasion and released a press
statement to that effect. Read the statement below and also see more alarming photos.
APC strongly condemns invasion of its offices, calls it
worst political scandal in nation's history
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly condemned
Saturday invasion of its offices in Lagos by security agents, calling it
perhaps the worst political scandal in Nigeria's history.
In a statement issued in Ijebu-Ode on Saturday by its
National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the invasion
can only be likened to the Watergate Scandal that led to the resignation of US
President Richard Nixon in 1974, as a result of the June 17, 1972, break-in at
the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters at the Watergate office
complex in Washington, D.C., and the attempted cover-up of its involvement by
the Republican Nixon Administration.
It therefore called for an independent inquiry to fish out
those who ordered the needless and unprovoked attack on the offices of the APC
and ensure that they face very serious consequences, irrespective of their
status
''Saturday's attack is another one in the string of attacks
and illegal actions of the PDP-led administration. The attack was unwarranted
and unjustifiable. To attack one of the offices of the opposition party, APC,
where legitimate operations of the party were being undertaken is an act of fascism
and totalitarianism. To the point of brigandage, the invasion of the APC centre
is an assault on the APC and its entire membership across the country. It must
not go unpunished,'' APC said
The party said though it had been tipped off about an
impending attack on the 'secret warehouse' of our leader Bola Ahmed Tinubu,
''we dismissed such plan because there was no 'secret warehouse' anywhere and
also because we never imagined that the government will attack the offices of
an opposition party in a constitutional democracy. Obviously we under-estimated
the desperation of the Jonathan Administration and its worsening proclivity to
impunity.''
Giving details of the invasion, the APC said in the early
hours of Saturday morning, a combined team of men of the DSS and OP-MESA
stormed the Bola Ajibola Data centre belonging to the APC in the Ikeja area of
Lagos and arrested about 25 APC data agents
and 3 security guards.
''In what was a gestapo-like operation, the APC membership
data centre located at Number 10, Bola Ajibola street, off Allen Avenue in
Ikeja, came under siege between the hours of 5:30 am and 7:30 am on Saturday.
An operation of terror and brigandage was unleashed on a legitimate operation
of a leading national party. They came without a search warrant for the
premises. Over 50 security operatives drafted from Abuja operations blocked the
two major street entrances to the APC data entry centre, pulled down the gates
and spent over 2 hours ransacking and vandalizing the centre.
''More than a dozen computers were destroyed. The server was
also vandalized along with other equipments in the building. Just like the
Watergate scandal in the USA, the state-sponsored security operatives
apparently acting at the behest of the ruling PDP government turned the office
upside down, and pulled out and vandalized everything in sight.
''If the PDP-led government and the security agents had done
due diligence and acted professionally, they would have known that the APC data
centre is a legitimate operation and the staff are Nigerian youths who were
left jobless by the Jonathan government. Apart from the Lagos centre, the
operation is decentralized and similar centres are functional in about six
different locations around the country.
''They chose to believe the lie that it was a warehouse
belonging to one of the national leaders of the party where dangerous weapons
were being kept, when in fact it is a
centre for entering the data provided by the millions of Nigerians who
registered as members of the party during its membership registration
exercise,'' the party said.
It described the invasion as another act of impunity, now a
trademark of the Jonathan-led presidency which is being edged on by the hawks
in the PDP.
APC called the invasion of its offices an attempt to
suppress the opposition, get details of its membership with the intention of
using it to rig the 2015 elections and also to destroy the spirit of democracy.
''When in Oct. 6th, 2013 we issued a statement alerting
Nigerians that the Jonathan Administration was using Rivers State as a testing
ground for creeping fascism ahead of the 2015 elections, some said we were
raising a false alarm.
''Well, here we are. In the past five months, the PDP-led
government has stepped up its acts of impunity and terror against the leaders
of the APC and all non-PDP actors. Elected officers, who are not PDP members,
have had their rights repeatedly violated by the police and other security
operatives. Never before has an elected government been so scared of the
opposition to the point of shutting it down.
''Now that they have overreached themselves by attacking the
offices of the main opposition party and destroying part of its membership
database, can the PDP-led government still claim to be operating under the rule
of law? Can the government sincerely tell the world it is now ready for a free
and fair elections in 2015? This is one impunity too many, and we will not
allow it to be swept under the carpet,'' the party vowed.

Pic: Bar man stabbed in Lagos for starring at customer's girlfriend
According to Punch, Kelvin Friday and his girlfriend, were hanging out in the hotel around 6pm on October 21, when it happened. The victim, claimed he was thinking about something he had discussed with his sister earlier in the day when the customer came up to him, saying that he was rudely starring at them and smashed his head with the bottle of beer he was drinking...
The customer, Kelvin initially complained of Simeon's customer service when they first stepped into the hotel. Kelvin later then complained Simeon was rudely starring and challenged him to fight at which point he attacked with a bottle, seriously. His girlfriend fled the scene when Simeon started bleeding.
Kelvin Friday has since been arrested and has been charged before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court for assault

As far as I am concerned, Lagos, Nigeria, is the worst place on planet Earth. I’ve never experienced so much corruption in my life. It was just a horrific experience getting into the country. Crossing in from Benin, we got shaken down by the border guards. In addition to the multiple police shakedowns, the multiple ATM issues were enough for me; three times in two days, the machines dispensed the wrong amount of money. It was oppressive and hot. I couldn’t tell you one good thing about that place."Here's the article. Anyone who reads this garbage and has never been to Lagos would really think this city is that horrible. Not nice! Continue..
