3 million copies of Charlie Hebdo magazine sold out within an hour of release (PHOTOS)

Charlie Hebdo resurrected its irreverent and often provocative newspaper today, Wednesday, January 14.

The publication featured a caricature of the Prophet Mohammed on the cover.

The magazine, which normally sells around 30,000 copies a week, had an initial unprecedented print run of three million. This has been increased to five million after all the copies were snapped up.

Issues of the magazine had sold out across Paris newsstands and kiosks within minutes of release.

The latest cover shows a weeping Mohammed, holding a sign reading ‘I am Charlie’ with the words ‘All is forgiven’ above him.

Aliko Dangote interested in buying a stake in Brooklyn Nets?

Court orders sale of Erastus Akingbola's Cayman Island properties to recover N164n debt

Ex- Group Managing Director of the defunct Intercontinental Bank Plc, Erastus Akingbola’s properties in Cayman Islands have been frozen by the Grand Court of Cayman Islands in a bid to recover a debt of N164 billion from him. The property is known as 2 Cambridge Court.

This comes after his properties, some flats at 17, 18, 19&20, Embassy Court London, NW 8, London, were sold.

Access Bank, which acquired Intercontinental Bank in 2012, had filed a debt recovery action in a London High Court, in respect of the sum said to have been converted and allegedly misappropriated by Erastus Akingbola who was also saddled with the responsibility of paying for the cost incurred by Access Bank while processing the case.

The court in a ruling by Mr Justice Andrew Jones QC, also granted a default judgment in the sum of N238,471,484, 162 and 1.8 million pounds in favour of Access Bank with interest from April 2014 until payment is made.

While there, sources revealed that they will hibernate in one of the choicest hotels in ‘the city of angels’ with everything at their beck and call.

Though still fresh in matrimony, Sheriff and Maryam Shagaya have already started counting their blessings with the expensive presents showered on them as wedding gifts. Informed sources disclosed that many expensive gifts have been delivered to them. They were later pampered with a new Rolls Royce Phantom.

     The wonderful ride, we gathered was given to them by the groom’s mother, Hajia Bola Shagaya and it cost $380,000 to bring in the exotic ride made for the rich and powerful. It was in that Rolls Royce that they cruised to the wedding luncheon on Saturday, November 13, 2010.

The Sheriff and Maryam Shagaya wedding ceremony will go down as one of the most expensive in recent times, gulping close to N1 billion, the couple’s parents did not spare any cost to pamper their children for that special occasion.

The nuptial kicked off with the wedding Fatiha on Friday, November 5, 2010, in Yola, Adamawa State. The next day, Saturday, November 6, 2010, it was ‘The Mother’s Night’ in Kaduna and the mother-of-all luncheon which was the climax came up on Saturday, November 13, 2010, at the Grand Ballroom, New Expo Hall, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The city of Lagos was painted gold as crème de la crème, politicians, businessmen, billionaires and others stormed the venue. Wife of the President, Dame Patience Jonathan was also in attendance as the Mother of the Day.
