A couple allegedly beat their teenage son to death during a family counseling session inside the"sanctuary room" of a Christian church..

Bruce Leonard, 65, and Deborah Leonard, 59, have been charged with manslaughter following the death of 19-year-old son, Lucas.
Daily Mirror reports that, Four of the couple's fellow parishioners were also charged with assaulting the teenager's younger brother, Christopher, on Sunday at the Word of Life Church in Chadwicks, New York.
"Both brothers were continually subjected to physical punishment over the course of several hours in the hopes that each would confess to prior sins and ask for forgiveness," chief of the New Hartford Police, Michael Inserra said.
Lucas died on Monday afternoon after being driven to a hospital by family members, who falsely told doctors the teenager had suffered a gunshot wound, police said.

PHOTOS: MAN BATHS EX-LOVER WITH ACID IN KOGI STATE

25 year old Aladi Sule was attacked with acid by her ex-lover, Kazeem Abdullahi, a few weeks ago in Kogi state. According to the story told by our source, Ladi and the man who attacked her had been lovers since secondary school. When she fell pregnant, the couple decided to live together but unfortunately the child died.

Then when they began to have problems, the man married someone else, prompting Ladi to leave the house. Then the man came begging but her family demanded that he marry her properly first before she moves back in with her. While they were making wedding preparations, the man rented a house for Ladi, who also managed to get some money to start a fruits shop. Eventually, the man decided he no longer wanted to marry Ladi and asked her to pack out from the home he rented for her.

When Ladi refused, he threatened to deal with her and destroy the ‘beauty’ sh was using to pose around town. Aladi didn’t take him serious. Then he showed how serious he was. A few weeks ago, Kazeem came to her house in the middle of the night and attacked her with acid. Shocking! Police in Lagos State recovers Man’s Head in Ebute Meta, Body in Surulere!

This is so bad! Police in Lagos State recovered the mutilated remains of a man, identified only as Christmas, was  dumped at two diff areas of the state.

According to PUNCH Metro the victim’s head was found at Olokodana junction in the Ebute Meta area, while his body was recovered in Alaka, Surulere, on Wednesday.

It was gathered that the identities of Christmas’ killers were, however, yet to be unravelled by the police.

A lodger, who was passing by the junction around 7am, was said to have raised the alarm, having discovered the head in a pool of blood.

Our correspondent gathered that two factions of hoodlums in Ebute Meta – Oto and Olokodana gangs – had since 2010, engaged one another in supremacy battle, which had allegedly claimed no fewer than 20 lives.

PUNCH Metro had reported on Friday, January 9, the killing of one Waheed Yusuf (aka Skippo) said to be the leader of the Olokodana gang.

He was allegedly killed in his house on Fagbayimu Street, Olokodana, Old Apapa Road, by some unknown gunmen.

A resident in the area, Tunde Adeniyi, told our correspondent that Christmas, who used to belong to the Olokodana gang, had abandoned the gang and was planning to leave the neighbourhood on Wednesday before he was killed.

He said, “I saw him packing his luggage on Tuesday. He said he was no longer interested in the clashes, adding that most of the top men in his (Olokodana) group were dead.

“He even said the motive of the rivalry was baseless, so he would rather quit and leave the community. I was surprised when I saw his head this morning. His body was later found in Surulere by the police.”

An eyewitness, who gave his name simply as Kola, said men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad stormed the community on Monday to avert an imminent clash.

“SARS came here late evening on Monday and raided everywhere. They recovered guns and arrested some hoodlums, including a lady,” he said.

The Lagos State Police spokesperson, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the recovery of the head in Ebute Meta.

He, however, said he had not been briefed on the recovery of the victim’s body.

He said, “A bodiless head belonging to a yet-to-be-identified male was recovered at Olokodana junction, Ebute Meta, by policemen from the Iponri Division acting on a tip-off.

“The head has been deposited at the Yaba General Hospital morgue, while investigations aimed at unravelling and apprehending the characters behind the act have been activated.

“Members of the public are enjoined to avail us information that will aid diligent investigation. I have not got any information on the recovery of his body in Surulere.”

Hope you can still eat after seeing this image of maggots in this woman’s eye

According to a report in a Canadian medical journal, a woman who was sick and was being treated in a Canadian hospital had 120 maggots removed from her eyes and nose after fly laid eggs in her eyes and nose..
"During the period, an adult fly (a green blow fly or a green bottle fly) was seen in the intensive care unit. The patient was in a windowless private room that had an open door. The intensive care unit had no windows to the outdoors; thus, it was assumed that the fly had entered the intensive care unit from another part of the hospital. The fly must have left the eggs in her nose and eyelid."
Doctors removed 120 maggots from her eyes and nose. This happened a long time ago - in 2007 - but the images were recently released. If you have the stomach to look at it, then continue...

Brand expert, Kenny Badmus, shares his amazing story of living with HIV in the last 15 years

To mark World AIDS Day which is today, December 1st, Nigerian brand expert & founder of Orange Academy, Kenny Badmus, took to his Facebook page to share his inspiring story of living successfully with HIV for the last 15 years. Find his story below...
Today, Monday December 1st, is World AIDS day, and I'm celebrating my resolve to live with this damn virus all these many years without letting it define who I am. Every journey I take, every picture of me you see, and every new challenge I take on are all huge reminders that I must never stop living my best life. So, I decided to share my journey with you today. Honestly, I don’t know what exactly you are dealing with but I’m writing you this to hold tight to your dream. Here's a quick sketch of my journey from the first day I tested positive, 15 years ago. My upcoming book tells the full story.
1999. After three years of different pains and minor illnesses, I was encouraged by my best friend and Professor Soyinka, an HIV specialist, to go get tested so I could face my fear. I had just resumed work as a Copywriter at McCann. I’d rather not know. I was working on Coca Cola, and I would rather live in the joy of that dream. It was that point when you assured yourself this was only a lie from the pit of hell. I had not been a ‘bad boy,’ I would assure myself.

1999. I tested, and it came back positive. I blamed everyone but myself. I wanted to end my life immediately. Trust me, I did try a few things. Then I called on God. I told God to change the status because it didn't look good on him. I sang. I fasted. I gave offerings. Prophet offerings. I died several times, but I didn't die. I was always back to myself. I came up with a few pseudo coping skills, but I was always depressed. The picture of HIV back then was very gory, and I was wasting away.
2004. I realized I didn't die yet. My flesh had not fallen off. My heart was still beating. I still liked rice and pepper stew. I still had early morning erections - and not just in the early mornings. Shouldn't I be dead by now? I began to question everything I ever knew.
2006. I had a local operation for tonsillitis, and it brought my immune system to level zero. I was infected by everything you could name. But I was so happy that I was going to die finally. Wouldn't it be nice to die just like that? Unfortunately, I did not die. I was bedridden for four months and was forced to live by myself. It was there that my Exodus happened. I realized for the 1st time that the real death is when we refuse to live out our full potential. Death is not a physical thing. It is an emotional thing. When we stop living. When we stop laughing. When we stop learning. When we stop crying. Or feeling. So I couldn't wait to get out of the hospital. There, I started the anti-HIV medication. (Trust me, it doesn't kill as I had feared)
2007. I started living and loving myself. As a creative person, I created Orange Academy to start teaching people how to find their creative self. Love themselves. Tell compelling stories. I put all my life into it. Then, I started to undo all my pseudo coping skills. Oh, I had tons of them. Like getting married, wanting people to accept me, being the 'yes' man to Ministers of God - something I did in times past to assure myself I was doing 'God's will.' I stopped sending my money to Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) and started investing it on people I could see around me. Little did I realize that God didn't send me to do anything to gain his favor or search for him. God had never been lost. I was meant to find myself and live my authentic life. Lift people up. Fight the oppression around me. I started spending time with myself. I started working out at the gym. I started to travel to enjoy the universe.
2008 - 2010. I looked in the mirror, and I saw a better me. A younger me. A healthier me. No more lies. At Orange Academy, we started the ART OF POSITIVE THINKING and started to use our arts and money to assist people living with debilitating diseases or social conditions. I took those layers of lies off my soul. I started writing my memoir - my full story as a preacher boy trying to find God who art in heaven! [ THE EXODUS coming out next year ]
2014. November. I had an appointment with my doctor in Maryland, USA, and he asked me:
'What's your secret?' All your medical tests are amazing. We tested for everything possible. No new infections or conditions. Blood work is excellent. Nothing at all to worry about. Perfect health. Just that you are still HIV+.'
‘Oh really?’ I said. ‘I thought that had disappeared.’
‘ Well, it’s still there, sadly. I hope Science gets the cure someday soon.’
We both laughed and then I fought back a little tear in my eyes. This dude doesn't know how grateful I am for HIV. Thank God for HIV. I wish I never had it, but Lord I did! It made me run after myself. Maybe I would never have understood myself; that no one can save us but us. Maybe I would never know the refreshing power that loneliness can bring when we embrace our broken self.
Here's what I want you to take away: don't end your dreams just because you are presented with bad news along the way. Remember, HIV doesn't kill anymore; it's ignorance that kills. Use that bad news to ride onto your next phase. It will be tough. I won't lie. Don't be afraid to live vulnerably. It's empowering. Empower yourself by loving yourself. Find yourself. Give yourself to people without expecting anything in return. If you are a Faith person, keep living your Faith in love for humankind. Empty yourself and accept to be filled with kindness from others. Believe me, there are still angels out there to lift you up.

*NOTE: Potentially I cannot infect anyone with HIV since my viral load went to undetectable since 2008. Nevertheless, I still advise that you take precaution with sexual partners as an HIV+ person, so they don't infect you with STDs. If you have not tested, know your status. It's liberating. Starting an HIV medication now doesn't only protect your loved ones but can make you live even longer than people without HIV.

A 10-year-old boy, Usen Okon, who was thrown into the Imo River in the Ikot Abasi area of Akwa Ibom State, by his aunty over witchcraft accusation, has survived the ordeal.

According to PUNCH, Okon was under the care of his paternal aunt, identified simply as Ekaeyen, at Etebi community in the Esit Eket Local Government Area of the state as his parents had died. Shocking! This Woman Disappears With Four Kids Within 30mins Of Starting Her Job As An Assistant Teacher (see)

A woman simply identified as eleha (woman in purdah) last Tuesday November 18, 2014 disappeared with 4 kids at a neighbourhood home lesson in Idi-Omo area of Ibadan, Oyo State. And according to Tribune, the children are yet to be found till the writing of this report today.

The four missing children, whose names were given as Abdulsalam Aderibigbe, Abigail Adegunju, Chidiebere and Onyiyechukwu were reportedly taken away by the eleha who disguised as someone in need of an employment. She struck within 30 minutes of starting her job as a lesson assistant.

The 33-year-old proprietress of  Mrs Kafayat Olatubosun, has described the incident which led to the disappearance of the four pupils in her care as one that is like a devil stalking her, after which he crept in and struck.

According to Mrs Olatunbosun who is nursing a 14-month-old baby and is currently kept in protective custody at State Criminal Investigation, Iyaganku, Ibadan:
“I started operating a neighbourhood lesson for children at Sagbolada Compound, Idi Omo, Ibadan in 2009. I rented a space in the compound and I pay N500 monthly for it. I have about 35 pupils between the ages of one-and-half and three. Sometimes, primary school pupils sent home from their schools because of non-payment of fees are brought by their parents so that there would be no vacuum in their academic lives. I collect N20 daily for each child and the lesson hours are between 8a.m. and 1p.m.”
The National Teachers Institution (NTI) certificate holder and mother of three spoke further:
“I had been working alone all the years, with regular assistance from my husband and a few elderly women staying within and around the lesson. Whenever I wanted to move round to pick children from their homes, my husband would stay with the ones already in class. Same would happen in the afternoon until the last child had been taken home. Whenever he was busy in the shop where he works as a lotto agent, the women who were like my in-laws would assist me.
The woman who did this evil work (kidnapping) had been coming when I was still pregnant with the 14-month-old baby I am nursing. She kept pestering me that she wanted to work with me but I told her that I did not need assistance.
About a month after I resumed work, having spent 41 days at home after delivery, she came again and I still insisted that I did not need an assistant. She told me that she wanted to leave where she was working because she was being owed salary. I replied that I would not a similar situation to occur in our relationship because the children were enough to take care of my own needs.
I told her that I would like to inform my husband which I did by calling him. But he could not come because he was busy in his office. The woman told me she would come back the following day. The following morning, when I got to the lesson, at a little after 8a.m., I met the woman waiting for me.
Shortly after, my husband came and saw her too. I said I would be paying her N3,000 monthly and she agreed. My husband left for his office and I decided to make the rounds to pick my pupils.
I went the first round to pick the children and I met the lady on my return. I went the second round and still met her. Even some parents who brought their children themselves saw her.
It was on my return after the third round that she was no longer around. I also noticed that one of the children, Abdusalam, was missing. I shouted and the elderly women around came. I quickly called my husband on the phone and he came. I met one of the parents who just brought her child in and she said she did not meet anyone.
That was how we noticed that Abigail, Samson, Chidiebere and Onyiyechukwu were also missing. The last two children are siblings Samson, who is three years old later walked back to us.”
When asked if she could identify the woman, Mrs Olatunbosun replied that she could.

Crime Reports learnt that the Idi Omo neighbourhood was immediately thrown into confusion as residents, especially the youths and parents of the missing pupils, started searching for the woman and the children. The mother of two of the missing children who are sisters was reported to have collapsed immediately and had since been on admission. The older of her two kids is three.

But the police image maker in Oyo State, Olabisi Okuwobi-Ilobanafor said that Commissioner of Police, Kola Shodipo has put his men on their toes to unravel the identity of the woman, with a view to arresting her.

The village in West Bengal has become overrun with thousands of worshippers flocking to see the child, who has four arms and four legs, at the hospital.
His condition is believed to be caused by the baby’s twin being joined to him in the womb.

Family Finds Missing Dad Abandoned by Roadside, Dead

Oranusi's rented apartment. Credit: Olaleye Aluko
Five days after a 50-year-old man, Mr. Joseph Oranusi, was reported missing by his family, he has been found dead and abandoned in front of a shop on Capitol Road, Agege, Lagos.

Before his death, Oranusi, who hailed from Idemili, Anambra State, was working as a security guard at a complex within the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja. PUNCH Metro learnt that the deceased, who lived with his family at Olusanya Street, Isokoko, Agege, was initially reported missing at the Isokoko Police Division on Thursday, October 24 ─ the day he failed to return home from his workplace.

The family, apart from reporting to the police, also went to Oranusi’s workplace, and made an
announcement on the broadcast media as they searched for their missing father. When the family got to Oranusi’s workplace, they were reportedly told that he signed out from office by 7.15am on the fateful Thursday.

However, five days later, it was learnt that some policemen on patrol from the Dopemu division discovered Oranusi’s corpse in front of an abandoned shop on Capitol Road, Agege. Some neighbours, who declined to give their names, told PUNCH that Oranusi was believed to have slumped and died at the location while on his way back home. A police source added that Oranusi might have survived if help had come his way from pedestrians or residents when he slumped.

Speaking with PUNCH Metro on Tuesday, the wife of the deceased, Hope Oranusi, said her greatest pain was that her husband was taken away to a morgue in Yaba, while the family was not contacted even though the police found an identity card on him. She added that the ID card should have prompted the police to trace his workplace and family.
She said:
“We had looked everywhere for him since the day of the incident. He had left for work on the night of Wednesday and had not returned in the morning as usual. He had hypertension and he used to take some drugs to alleviate the effects.
It was five days later that a church member called me that someone heard that an abandoned corpse was found in front of a shop on Capitol Road. They did not allow me to see it, but when his younger brother went, it turned out to be my husband.
My shock was that we learnt the police took the body to a morgue for a mass burial. I was very sad. How could a man returning from work and found with an ID card be taken to a morgue for a mass burial without his family or workplace being contacted? However, they have rescinded the decision.”
Hope, who has three kids and teaches in a private secondary school, added that she believed that although people might have failed to come to her husband’s rescue, he died a natural death.
“He died a natural death. His body was found intact. So, I don’t think anyone was responsible,” she said.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, while confirming the incident, said the police had released the corpse to the family for burial. He said:
“The police recovered his corpse. His case was recorded as Sudden and Unnatural Death. The police took the body to a morgue where an autopsy should have been conducted to ascertain the cause of death. But on the family’s request, his body has now been released for burial.”

TRAGEDY: Housewife Stabs Husband to Death over Money in Lagos

The street

What started as a mild argument over money turned tragic between a couple in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State after the wife stabbed her husband to death. And according to Punch, the incident happened on Wednesday, last week, on TK Balogun Street, Igbo Olomu, Ishawo.

The woman, Folashade Sodiya, 27, killed her husband, Jude Igbinedor, 39, around 2am after a heated argument over money.

They were said to have been in a seven-year relationship, though the union had not been consented to
by the parents. They reportedly got married without approval of their parents and started living together two years ago. The suspect, an indigene of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, had a one-year-old baby for the deceased, who was an Edo State indigene.

When PUNCH visited the area on Tuesday, a neighbour, Busola Adewunmi, explained that the couple had only recently relocated to the area. Adding that the couple had barely spent five days in their single room apartment when tragedy struck.

Adewunmi described them as gentle and respectful tenants, who complied with the rules of the house, and that Folashade was, however, temperamental while her husband smoked. She said:
“They packed into this house penultimate Saturday morning, around 5am, and the incident happened on Wednesday morning. On Tuesday, the wife had asked someone to lend her N1,000 pending when her husband would come back from his mother’s place where he had gone to. The man arrived and even bought vegetables and other food stuffs for his family. In the evening, he came out and also washed the pots they used to cook that day.
It was around 2am that things went sore. I learnt she said he was the first to use a hanger to hit her before she also stabbed him in the chest.”
After Jude was stabbed, Folashade called for help. However, Igbinedor gave up shortly after. The neighbours were said to have alerted policemen from the Owutu Police Division.

Another resident, who spoke to PUNCH Metro, said when the police arrived at the scene, they met the suspect on the floor with her baby in her hands. The resident, who declined identification, said:
“She had become remorseful by then. When the police picked the wrong knife as exhibit, she told them she used a stainless knife in killing her husband, which she also fetched for them. It was said that she wanted to take part of the money the husband brought from her mother to offset the money she borrowed, but he declined. She never denied killing him. But she said he was the first to attack her and she only wanted to scare him with the knife.”
PUNCH Metro gathered that the deceased’s corpse had been taken to the mortuary, while the suspect was detained at the Owutu Police Station. A police source said the suspect and the deceased had been having silent quarrels before the incident. The source said:
“No one can tell what exactly caused this one. The woman, however, said her grouse with Jude was that he always gave her the impression he did her a favour by letting her have his child. She said she was holding the knife that night to scare him and did not know when he rushed at her and the knife entered his chest.”
When PUNCH contacted a relative of the deceased, he declined comment, referring them to the family lawyer whose contact could not be obtained as of press time.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, however, confirmed the incident. He said:
“At about 1.15am on November 13, one Jude Igbinedor was stabbed on the chest by his wife, Folashade Shodiya. The victim died on the spot, while his corpse has been taken to the Ikorodu General Hospital morgue for autopsy.”
He added that the case had been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation

This Is Fantastic! Blind Woman regains sight after hitting head on table (Photo)

24 year old Lisa Reid, who has been blind since the age of 11, has miraculously regained her sight after hitting her head on a coffee table.  She wanted to say goodnight to her dog when she bent and hit her head....she went to bed with the pain, only to weak up in the morning to find her eyes restored :)

Read her interview with ABC News below:
Nobody knows what happened or can explain it,' 'I can't really find words to describehow it felt - amazing, fantastic.
'You can imagine not being able to see and then you can, you can't really describe that.(continue)

'To see the world again visually is a gift.'"I just saw the white of my ceiling ..Looking around my room… the light shining through the curtains… the window frame"
Doctors say there is no medical explanation for how Reid regained her sight, while some suggest her blindness may have been psychological.

Graphic: Women walk past headless corpses in Raqqa without raising an eyebrow in shocking pics depicting life under ISIS rule

Disturbing images of life under ISIS rule Raqqa city in Syria have emerged showing the decapitated corpses of Syrian soldiers lined up in the streets, UK Daily Mail reports.

Women walk past their bodies without acknowledging their impaled heads on fences for fear of being killed themselves. Elsewhere hate preachers urge children to disobey their parents and join the terror group. Raqqa has remained an ISIS stronghold since the group took control of the city last year. Residents have been subjected to an unrelenting torrent of horror, with many too poor to flee across the border to Turkey. Despite American and Arab forces bombing the city, fighters remain jubilant and have taken control of the population's homes and resources. See the horrific photos after the cut...
