Since the commencement of the ministerial screening of two batches of ministerial nominees sent by President Muhammadu Buhari, the Nigerian Senate has twice boycotted the screening of a former governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi.Amaechi, who was the campaign director of the ruling party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) during the March 28 presidential elections, might have been boycotted based on various reasons.
However, here are 4 major reasons why he may not be screened below:1. No support from Rivers state senators2. Petitions levelled against Amaechi3. Vendetta with the former first lady, Patience Dame Jonathan4. Declining popularityBear in mind, since the screening exercise, the former governor had written three letters to the senate pleading innocence of the allegations against him.
